detoxing is a healthy way to lose weight and improve your health
Different people come on yoga detox retreat for different reasons.
Even if the main priority isn't about weight loss, and in most cases it isn't, in my experience, most people are happy with the added benefit of shedding a few kilo's.
A few generalisations which are frequent enough to warrant their appearance here:

Thank you so much for an amazing week - I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. I feel a different man, I really do. Incidentally, I have lost 13lbs (6kg). I knew I'd shed a few pounds but I wasn't expecting to lose THAT much...I cant believe it! Almost a stone in a week!!!

Six months later and I'm still 52 kg and although I am not always as 'good' as I could be, I generally avoid sweet stuff, I eat virtually no dairy products and I try to to eat carbohydrates at night (weight watching). I do drink coffee and extraordinarily - something new for me, I occasionally eat red meat!! I bought a seed sprouter!! I'm doing well.Lauren, it was great to hear from you! I am already looking to my summer detox 2012.

- On average you can expect to lose about a pound a day.
- Again, on average, the more weight you have to lose, the more you lose.
- Men tend to lose quicker than women. Perhaps women have more 'hang-ups' with weight and food?
